Enjoy a short but immersive trip on the Aisne River, perfect for kayak, canoe or stand-up paddle. A 1.5–2 hour outing from Rethel, with scenic nature, small beaches to rest, and the historic Biermes aiguilles.

The route starts directly from Rethel.
You will find:

  • a life jacket,

  • suitable paddle or oar,

  • a waterproof barrel for your belongings.

The starting point is easy to access, perfect for families or groups.

The descent to the Biermes aiguilles

Paddle gently down the river to reach the Biermes aiguilles.
These “aiguilles” are large wooden planks once used to regulate the river for mills and navigation. Today, they are a historic part of the Ardennes river heritage.

The route is:

  • calm and easy, suitable for beginners, children, and adults,

  • also perfect for stand-up paddle, for a fun and sporty experience.

Return to Rethel

After discovering the aiguilles and paddling a few kilometers, the route loops back to Rethel.
